jalaed
My audio dissapeared on my p5W DH Deluxe after installing 10.4.9 Update using AHMEDS 10.4.9 procedure (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...0_4_8+to+10_4_9) Before the update, everything was working fine. I had OSX 10.4.8 installed and it was up and running. I was using the Tarruga 0.2b drivers (see site). Everything was happy chummy until I installed 10.4.9. There was no sound, no input and out device was found in my sound control panel. It affected Itunes, Garageband and aything that uses the audio of course. Here is my configuration: 1. p5w DH DELUXE 2. 4GB RAM 3. NVidia 7600GT 256MB 4. Builtin ACL 882 Sound Card 5. JAS 10.4.8 INTEL.SSE3.AMD PP1.PPF2 DVD with 8.8.1 6. BIOS 1901 7. SATA II 16MB 250GB WD HD What Fixes and workarounds I have tried so far: Taruga ACL882 0.4b (ALC882_AppleHDA_v0.4b.mpkg.zip) drivers for 10.4.9. It does not work. Taruga ACL882 0.2 (ALC882_AppleHDA_b0.2.mpkg.zip) drivers for 10.4.8. (from this website). It does not work. I also tried Taruga's 1.16 patcher (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...32859&st=20 ) but still did not work. I will try the following options tonight. Option 1 -------- - Re-install JAS 10.4.8 DVD. Update Kernel to 8.9.1 (I got from www.mckill.ca) Check if JAS INTEL SSE3 10.4.9 patch is available. Option 2 -------- - Reinstall JAS 10.4.8 DVD. Update Kernel 8.9.1 Install 10.4.9 Delta update from Apple (167mb download from Apple). Without following AHMEDS procedure. Option 3 -------- - Reinstall JAS 10.4.8 DVD. Update Kernel 8.9.1 Install 10.4.9 Delta update from Apple (167mb download from Apple). Without following AHMEDS procedure. Option 4 -------- - Reinstall JAS 10.4.8 DVD. Update to Kernel 8.9.1 Install 10.4.9 following AHMEDS procedure. Option 5 -------- - Disable Onboard ACL882 and buy Creative XMOD, however this will cost me some money and I don't know if there will be a performance hit on my OSX system? I heard this is a great sound card alternative without any need for any drivers. I need 10.4.9 to run Final Cut Pro 2. Do you have any tips or patches for me to try?? I hope this post helps other p5W DH Deluxe upgraders too.

twophive
From my experience, I was able to use the v1.16 patcher under 10.4.9, with the supplied link to the audio text files. Then I just restarted, I use the ALC888 and input, output PLUS optical out even worked.
