Speedwell
Hi people, finally got JaS 10.4.8 sse2 etc installed and running on my Athlon 3200+ with a SiS760 Mainboard from ECS but just one issue is really bugging me and i can't find a topic to help, if i enable the onboard sound the system starts gets the apple logo and the twirly logo and then after 20 seconds stops and goes to the 'you must reset you computer' message. If i disable the onboard sound (in the bios) it boot up no problems into Mac? i wanna get sound working but haven't a clue where to go from here? any help ....... appreciated
Lactobacillus P
What might help is getting a USB sound solution that is MacOS compatible, your on-board sound system doesn't seem to be supported. You might want to check the various HCL's and driver sections on this and other forums to see if there is a fix.
hecker
Learn to read the faqs & stickies, newbie. Here, you can check your hardware compatibility on this list: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.4.8 There's an entry there referring to a mobo model SiS760GX/964: Base devices work (USB, Firewire, PS/2). Must disable legacy USB devices in BIOS for PS/2 mouse and keyboard to work. * Sound: Requires SiS 7012 Driver for correct line out/mic in. * Ethernet: Requires Realtek 8139 Driver. * ATA: Requires SiS Driver for all ATA channels to be active. All drives will appear as SATA devices, including DVD+-RW. * SATA: Works when set to IDE mode in BIOS and ID 0x01801039 added to Info.plist in above driver in "IOPCIPrimaryMatch" under "VIA SATA Controller". * Video: Basic VESA 3.0 framebuffer. AGP enabled with AGPGart.kext version extracted from this package. On board graphics are quite fast, but no QE/CI or OpenGL. * Sleep: Does not wake from sleep. It seems you need to install this driver to get your soundcard to work: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry140433 Good luck, hecker
