dsc106
Most everytime I see or read instructions, people always give the instructions through the command prompt/console... why can't use just give the instructions through the GUI, especially for simple things like copying/moving files or overwriting stuff. It is just so much easier, faster, and less confusing...
moomoo
alot of commands like chmod and chuser don't have gui equivalents.
Guest Ramm
In most cases, the console is also a lot more efficient than having to sort through windows.
Dr. Hurt
Because not all commands have GUI alternatives. Also command line gives you exclusive access to system files. Also it much faster than having to navigate thru a million folders and files.
lord_muad_dib
terminal is a blessing for all of us, you just need to get used of. it's even faster to use compared to GUI, especially when you have to manage several files you could say... what the..?!?! i have to type toons of things every time instead of a simple click! no you dont! just use tab completion! (type a letter and press tab/double tab to see all the entries)
