mattthehat
Hi all, I need URGENT assistance, I've never used a forum before so apologies if this is in the wrong place. (I posted it somewhere else to be double sure!) Basically, I've been running my "Formac disk160" external hard drive with OSX on my Mac mini. It has never been disconnected until I put it in my friend's mac to grab some files. When I put it back in my Mac now, all I get is a message from disc utility telling me it it an unsupported format and cannot be read. Even though the drive appears in the list, the three partitions are not listed and the disc does not mount to the hard drive. I an't afford to lose any files because I've got 10,000 uni words on there!! AAARGH!!!

Shimms
Not very helpful I know, but would it be a disaster if you lost all the files? If so, why not have a disaster recovery position? (Backup)...
Alessandro17
Which kind of filesystem were you using? In any case if your data are so important to you it is better to go to a local computer shop, preferably an Apple one.
elviejo
If the only thing you did was get some files in your friend computer, this sound like a bad cable connection.
