puffo25
Hello, any guru to install one of the latest versions of osx86 10.4.x into my Sony Vaio PCG-TR series laptop?? ? Here is my problem: I have a sony Vaio PCG-TR series, which has a built-in video card and an intel processor. For some reasons I could install smootly on it only osx86 version 10.4.1 (developer edition). Starting from version osx86 10.4.3 and above, I am running into major video display problems (!!!) (ie. mainly the video graphic extremly slow and to move the coursor of my mouse from one side to another of the screen ). Any clue? Is for example JaS.10.4.8.Intel.SSE3.Only.Install.DVD.iso supposed to be safe? Any precaution during its installation? Do I have maybe to hack my video card driver? How??????? Please help, I am lost! Thanks in advance! Puffo25
mac.nub
Hi, Are you by any chance using a Core Duo machine? If so you may need to disable one of the CPU cores for Mac to function correctly! If you don't know how to do that simply use cpus=1 when it asks you if you want to use any boot flags. Cheers, ~mac.nub
puffo25
Hi Mac.Nub, I am not running a Dul Core PC. I run a 3 years old genuine Intel Pentium Sony Vaio latop, around 1.1Ghz clock speed....

puffo25
Dear Lord_Muad, my Sony Vaio cpu sped is 1.0Ghz. It is a 3 years old PC. Again, with osx86 version 10.4.1 I did not have any problem with the speed of the video display, but with the latest versions (14.3. and above yes!!!). I think it is also related to the fact that the new releases include more computer and extension controls and this might be also one of the reasons of my very slow video display??? Emre SUMENGEN
Hi puffo25, The thing people keep asking, GPU, is the Video Card/Video Chipset of your machine.. You have stated it has an integrated one (on the mobo itself) but what chipset does it have? Is it one of ATI/Nvidia or Intel GMA series? What is written on Windows (I assume you use it also) device manager under Display Adapters? This info can help someone send you to the right direction. (Not me, I've just had enough info to handle my own problems with the Radeon 9550)
