mab538
Ok... I'm running 10.4.8 on a Dell 600m. Everything works great for a machine only supporting SSE2. Anyway here's my question... I want to be able to use an external monitor with my computer. In XP all I had to do was attach the monitor and close the lid. Then the desktop would show on the monitor. In Mac that doesn't work, mostly I think because when I close the lid, the display doesn't turn off. So, anyone have an ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance
Neonkoala
Try using some common sense and looking under Displays in System Preferences....
jackmup101
you'll have to disable the comp from sleeping when the lid is closed, but connecting an external monitor is simple...plug. it. in. and then check display prefs
mab538
Hey, Not sure if this is still alive but... The computer never goes to sleep when I close the lid. And when I plug the monitor in, there's not option to change monitors, just resolution, colors and refresh rate.
