noobidoo
... same problem here - does anybody have a solution?
noobidoo
ok, fixed it: visit Apple Developer Connection and get IOUSBFamily.kext for the MacOSXbuild you are running (For me worked fine on 10.4.9). Mount the image and choose the unlogged package and just install, repair disk permissions and reboot. In my case the USB-problem was fixed without any complications. Ferret-Simpson
Since I do give a warning about that package in the FOI, it might be a good idea if you append this sol'n to that thread? Ferret.
Porkserver
I have had very odd results with the 10.4.8 - 10.4.11 on my AMD system. the stock kext works fine but with my Plantronics USB headset I had to make a hotplug driver script because after anywhere from 1 minute to hours I start to sound like {censored} to my friends in Ventrilo. I have been playing with the USBAudio kext in 10.5 and im going to try just replacing the USBAudio.kext from 10.6 JaS that driver never seemed to casue issues but my only concern is the older driver compatibility with IOUSBFamily.kext anyone else have issues with the USB driver and USB headsets?
