kubaqba
Hi everyone, I've just noticed that the System Profiler claims that my NVIDIA Geforce MX400 uses the PCI-bus. This is obviously incorrect. I think this is why I can't force a higher resolution than 800x600. Is there a way to fix this? (It should say AGP) The card supports VESA 3.0 (as seen during boot). Thanks in advance. phoebus
same here!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've experimented with a noname GeForce MX400 : - the card is indeed recognized by System Profiler as PCI, but also other AGP cards are recognized as such - I was only able to see something using 1024x768x32 - The card is supposedly VESA 3.0, but the refresh selection (@75, @85 @#!*?!! ) doesn't work, Darwin resets at boot - interestingly enough, XP doesn't allow to change the refresh rate when using the card in VESA mode, without a specific driver - higher modes, like 1280x1024x16 or 1600x1200x16 do boot, but I get a MONOCHROME screen ! Maybe a BIOS update would help.. Does anybody know where to get Nvidia BIOS updates ? d70
anyone knows a solution to this monochrome issue? i have a gforce 2 and os x sees it as AGP which is correct but i still can't go any higher than 1024x768. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/488-geforce-mx400-at-1280x1024/#findComment-28121 Share on other sites
m4ff3w
You need to add your AGP bridge device ID in the AppleI386PCI.kext\info.plist to get your card detected as AGP.
