  1. (Help) HD 5450 on 10.8 GM

Is the AMDRadeonAccelerator kext just for people with 5/6000 cards or for 4000 as well? I have a 4850 I am trying to get working but I have been using ATI4800Controller and ATIRadeonX2000 kexts.
  2. 4850 Gets Stuck Booting 10.8

I got rid of the s iocprotodetach error by deleting a Cisco Anyconnect VPN program. Then I got rid of the utun_ctl_connect error by disabling Back to My Mac in the iCloud settings. Now I am hanging on these two lines: Sandbox: sandboxd(106) deny mach-lookup com.apple.coresymbolicationd considerRebuildOfPrelinkedKernel com.apple.driver.AppleHWSensor triggered rebuild I don't know what is going on with the above post, I'm sorry for the editing, but every time I try to make it look better it adds lines and becomes worse.
  3. This card worked fine for me in Lion and I had to mess around with kext files less than I did to get it working in Snow Leopard. However, it's not working in Mountain Lion and the only way I can boot is with GraphicsEnabler=No (booting into safe mode doesn't work). Booting into verbose mode, startup hangs here: siocprotodetach_in6 utun1 error 6 (see attached image). I don't see what this error should have to do with the graphics card, so I'm wondering if there is some conflict rather than something directly related to graphics. Currently I have installed 4 kexts related to the card: ATI4800Controller (modified with my device ID, 9442), ATIRadeonX2000, ATIFramebuffer and ATISupport. I have tried mixing and matching these to no avail. The Controller and RadeonX kexts are from the 10.8 Exotic patch and I repaired permissions, etc after installing. The text before the "siocprotodetach_in6 utun1 error 6" error is not always the same but it always hangs right there if I don't use GraphicsEnabler=No. Finally, I tried booting with the string "ATIConfig=Cardinal" which led to the same error. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  4. x1400 with External Monitor?

Man, 30 views and no replies, I guess that means no one has any freaking idea.
  5. You should be able to use this kext package here. Modify the RadeonHD kext with your EDID, and leave the ATIRadeonX1000 kext as it is.
  6. x1400 with External Monitor?

I have an old Dell E1505 laptop with a new install of 10.6.4, and I was able to get the x1400 working by using ATIRadeonX1000.kext and RadeonHD.kext modified with my laptop EDID and they worked well enough to get max res (1680x1050) with QE/CI. However, I am trying to get the system running with an external display for an extended desktop. Currently, if I startup the OS with an external monitor plugged into the VGA out, I get a blurred image on my laptop screen and a normal looking screen on the external monitor (see attached picture - you can see that the laptop display replicates the external, but stretched and wildly distorted). If I startup without the monitor attached and plug it in after the system boots, I am unable to detect the attached display. Any ideas as to how to get this working with an external display? I'm not anywhere near knowledgeable about this stuff to try any coding. I basically need someone to tell me what to modify or another kext to install. I do have the EDID for my external monitor, though I'm not sure where that would come into play. I'm willing to try any suggestions and really appreciate any help that can be provided!
  7. Thanks very much for this. I was able to use your ATIRadeonX1000.kext as it was and the RadeonHD.kext modified with my EDID and it worked like a charm. I may or may not also have a ATISupport kext installed - not sure whether it was necessary or not. Either way, I have 1680x1050 with QE/CI. Anyone have ideas?
  8. has anyone had success getting the x1400 to work with a second display using an extended desktop? i haven't tried installing os x on my dell e1505 yet, but i probably won't bother if the extended display won't work
  9. ATI Radeon HD 4850 DUAL MONITORS Confirmed working

Oh wow, I thought it would show up in profiler. Thanks very much, I guess everything is working perfectly!
  10. Radeon 4850 and 10.6.3 update problems

To get mine working I installed the 10.6.2 versions of ATI4800Controller (with the device id), ATIFramebuffer and ATISupport kexts using Kext Utility. That gives me full resolution, but not QE/CI, I'm still trying to figure that out. Edit; well, according to this, QE/CI works after all: http://prasys.co.cc/tag/enable-qeci/
  11. ATI Radeon HD 4850 DUAL MONITORS Confirmed working

You have it working with QE/CI? I installed the 10.6.2 versions of ATI4800Controller (with the device id), ATIFramebuffer and ATISupport kexts using Kext Utility, and I have full resolution on my XFX 4850. However, I still don't have QE/CI. Did you install Legacy4800 to E/E or S/L/E?
  12. ATI mobility X1300/X1400 -only

The fact that no one has figured out how to get full support for the x13/1400 in the last two years says to me that anyone still trying ought to probably just purchase and install a graphics card that is compatible.
  13. dual core

weird problem. it doesn't work for me, either, whether i try with 10.4.3, or .5. haven't tried 6
  14. No 1680×1050

how did you get CE/QI working?
