Around January a friend handed me an AMD OSX dvd that I tried on my system. I managed to get everything but my video working, so I deleted it and handed back the DVD.

Now I have an x1800xt, which I read can be made to work, so I'd like to try OSX again. However, I don't know what DVD I used that managed to install.

Here's what I have:

AMD Opteron 170 on a DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra-D.

Combination of PATA and SATA drives.

ATI x1800xt.

So... I have tried one DVD release on here that hangs during the install, that claimed to work on AMD64. It didn't...

first and foremost I need to know which release will work on nForce4 Ultra, and not barf when it sees SATA drives.

Also, I seem to remember someone finally releasing a working SATA driverset for nForce4?

What release would y'all recommend? (I can find it myself)..

TIA,

covenent

do you recommended a site that i could get that install from?

I'm not sure if direct links are allowed here... so I'm not going to post one... However, it can be found searching for "osx 1048 amd final" on google, and the first torrent site that comes up (at least on my search) is legit and doesn't require registration. I believe that is the release he is referring to, anyway, it's the one I'm getting.
