bigcletus
I guess its not a big deal but it is a little annoying. My monitor (Single Viewsonic w/dvi connection) goes into standby directly after the grey apple screen for about 10 seconds. Once it powers back on, the desktop has been loaded. Is there anything I can do to stop it from going into standby? I am using diabolik's natit dual v02 installer for 10.4.9 with a nvidia 7600GT that has dual dvi output connections but I am only using one of them. Thanks for any help. bibendum
Have you tried switching DVI connectors? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/48010-monitor-goes-into-standby-between-booting-and-loading-desktop/#findComment-344128 Share on other sites
errandwolfe
Actually this is a common part or Natit. I have the exact same behavior on my card. All I can say is let this be the worst problem my hackintosh has. SA22C
I found that the problem was lessened when I switched DVI connectors. I think it's because the video driver isn't detecting the second DVI port until late in the bootup process. bigcletus
Have you tried switching DVI connectors? When I use the other dvi connector, i get all kinds of weird numbers that scroll at the top of the screen and it doesn't do anything past that. I think my video card might be bad.... update: actually i was incorrect, it is much faster booting using the other dvi connector and the monitor doesn't go into standby even though it does black out for a couple of seconds. I was using the vga to dvi adapter on the other dvi port before and i was getting strange text on the screen. But with straight dvi it seems fine.
