cartoonmonkey
I'm having probs getting osx to dual boot with xp, can anyone help, -been reading the forums like mad, with no solution. I have one 40 gb hd: 3 partitions. The first, (no drive letter, unnamed) contains osx86 10.4.5 boots fine if I set that partition to "active".. but then, I can't boot into XP. The 2nd partition, C: WinXP the 3rd: D: -just backup data, mp3's etc. I'd like not to lose this, ultimately.. So, my problem is this: If I put chain0 in the root of my C: drive, and edit my boot ini to include c:\chain0="macos" It won't do anything when I select osx. Xp boots fine, (It's actually partition 2) -but I can't quite figure out how to get the chain0 pointed to the right spot to do it's job. Thanks for any help. C Update: I just tried giving the partition a drive letter in Acronis Disk Director (E:) and doing e:\chain0="macosx" and.. nothing. Hmm.. Anyone? cbmkgd
If chain0 is in the root of C:\, then c:\chain0="macos" should work. Maybe take care of case sensitivity of "chain0" to match the case of actual file. But what kind of problem you get when you set osx active and use the darwin bootloader and chose XP? Korrupted
Select Mac in the Doze boot menu, then press F8 repeatedly after doing so. It should bring up the Darwin menu. Use the arrow keys to select your Mac partition and hit enter to boot it up. Hope that helps.
