I recnetly installed OS X on my dell desktop, It installed fine, but when i try to boot without the CD, The normal screen comes up with the apple and spinning thing but after a while, a "no" sign like this: (/) goes over the top of the apple. It stays on this screen and wont do anything.

Any help would be appreciated!

the (/) sign means that there is something that you install that should not be installed. like a wrong patch or update. i have the same problem before. i reinstalled everything and made sure that i customize the things i install. there is an option to do that. i was able to pass that screen and get to starting OS X but get stalled after.. ;) but i am still hopeful. good luck!

it is customize in the install process. it is a button located on the bottom left of the installation part of mac.. make sure that you click on the little triangle beside the amd and intel patches. choose the best config from the list. i got this resolved already and im using my hackintosh while posting this.. :hysterical:
