Can anyone please tell me if there is any possible way that one can boot straight from an ISO? I have the JaS DVD ISO but i do not have a DVD burner available. However, i was able to have the Deadmoo image running on my Laptop so I am sure that I can run Mac OS X. So can anyone tell me if there is a way to boot from that ISO?

I can tell you right away that you will not be able to boot from an alchol/daemon-esque virtual drive. If your bios does not support usb boots, there is still an option for an iso boot. Slax, a linux live distribution, has a functionality by which you can boot from the device with slax(read their installation guide) and then instead of booting the slax distro, you can choose an image from your HD. i don't remember the specifics atm, but they have everything well discribed ath their site.

try the last download, it can do what you want.

Thanx for the help, but i'm trying to avoid using any other types of Linux other than Ubuntu, mainly because I'm new to Linux for that matter. I'm an avid Windows user but I want to get Mac working. I've already had the Deadmoo image working nicely, but it had way too many limitations in what you can run and what you can't, so i want to natively install Mac using the JaS 10.4.8 DVD. But i still don't have access to a DVD burner. And I don't have any large storage USB devices as well. And I've tried to run it through VMWare, but my laptop can't allocate enough memory for VMWare to boot the DVD ISO all the way.

These are the specs for my laptop:

Laptop Model: Dell Inspiron B120

CPU: Intel Celeron M (1.50 GHz)

Video: Intel 915GM/910GML Graphics

Memory: 256MB

Hard Drive: 40GB (IDK What Brand)

Optical Drive: DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Drive

OS: Double Boot: Partition 1 - Windows XP Professional, Partition 2 - Dell System Restore Partition, Partition 3 - Unallocated Space Reserved For Mac OS X

Audio: Sigmatel 9200

Wireless: Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter Model F5D7050

I know my laptop meets the minimum requirements so once again, is there any way to boot using nothing but the ISO, even if it means using GRUB? I'd really appreciate it.
