zzmad
Hi, I installed the original Apple 10.4.3 plus the Maxxus patch. All went very good. I have an Intel 915 motherboard plus celeron D .. just to be as much compatible with the dev kit as possible .. Still no sound, but I'll look into it .. Things seems smooth .. and solid .. (I am OSX user since 10.1, not a windows users). 10.4.1 didn't run that well. I was experiencing some little annoying problems with app quitting .. things that made the environment not solid enough .. 10.4.3 is still slow, I have a 60 for processor in xbench 1.2. The point is the speed of the app with rosetta, which are most of the app ... It is disappointing. Example is Cinebench: in windows the processor rendering takes 119 sec, in OSX86 with the PPC version of Cinebench it takes 479 sec. Rosetta is not a 30% is .. 4x the speed ... (G5 Dcore 2.0 takes 51 sec) I mean I can't use such computer for anything but playing :-) .. SUBMarcos
Thanks for you input. What is the size (GB) of 10.4.3? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4732-043-with-maxxus-success/#findComment-30022 Share on other sites
zzmad
Thanks for you input. What is the size (GB) of 10.4.3? Hi there, you mean size of the DMG?, ISO? .. Well .. The DMG was the original from apple that leaked a couple of weeks ago: 2.72GB Then the ISO became 4.01GB This is 10.4.3 version 8F1099, it seems there's a 8F1111 somewhere and to this version were upgraded rosetta to fully support altivec G4 + aTI drivers .. that's very interesting, since the performance of altivec optimized software are very poor at the moment ... I would look for 10.4.3 8F1111 Cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4732-043-with-maxxus-success/#findComment-30178 Share on other sites
Danman
zzmad have you fixed your sound? I've got a 915GUX and had to edit the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext plist.info (changed the 880 part of ven/dev id to 860) to get sound output to work (but then lost sound input) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4732-043-with-maxxus-success/#findComment-30184 Share on other sites
