I know there is the settings in "Appearance" but this doesn't turn off font smoothing completely. I figured out that font smoothing is what makes my text fuzzy on my LCD. I have set the settings in "Appearance" to turn off font smoothing for any text size smaller than 12 but there isn't any other larger options. This has made all my text that is smaller than 12 look totally sharp. But anything larger that 12 looks fuzzy.

Does anybody know where to look for this setting? Which kexts? Which plist? Which ...?rolleyes.gif

This the only thing that is keeping me from moving over from WinXP. WinXP text is razor sharp. I am about halfway there now.icon9.gif

Cheers, Blog

font smoothing is a great feature!! I don't know where to disable it or even if that's possible on MacOS. Probally it's looking fuzzy on your LCD because your resolution is set wrong. Some tipes of LCD are made to work properly in just one resolution. Other resolutions the image looks strached. Try changing your resolution on MacOS and see the results...

Already running in native rez. 1680*1050. Image is not being stretched. Both OS X and my monitors menu are telling me 1680*1050. Font size is ok, the same as in WinXP. Looks perfectly sharp in WinXp but very hard on the eyes in OS X. It is probably the fact that Nvidia cards have been hacked into OS X to make them work. I have it working satisfactory for now by doing what I did in my prior post.

Thanks anyway, Blog
