Hello all: I've read with great interest through the OSX installation guides on this site. I have a TC1100 (Intel M753 @ 1.2 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM, 120 GB of hard drive) in which I wish to install OSX from scratch. I am not looking to dual boot, but to use this machine with OSX only.

I have seen some postings that state folks out there have already done this, but I have not found a step by step guide. Perhaps one of the existing guides is enough, but I'd like to see if there is a guide out there with more specific details.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Fernando

Thanks for your response. What I am trying to find out is if the tablet drivers (Wacom) as well as other things (networking, hardware buttons, VGA-out, USB ports, audio, etc) work well with OSX installed.

How "not very fast" are we talking about?

Is there a "detailed instruction guide" for OSX on the TC1100 out there somwhere?

Thanks.

Currently trying to get it working on my TC1000 as well.

Using 10.4.6 following this guide and tweaking as I went along: http://www.nedprod.com/Niall_stuff/MacOS%20X/index.html

Success so far with:

Bluetooth - seems to work without any changes required.

LAN - seems to work without any changes required.

Fan/CPU - took a while as ACPICPUThrottle from that site has disabled cpus that can clock to less than 1GHz (like the cpu in the tc1100), ended up using the kext that was released just before the <=1GHz was disabled. Have to manually load the kext each time at the moment but can choose between 600MHz (almost silent, 3hr battery life) to 1200MHz (gets louder and louder and short battery life)

Wireless (HP W500) - IO80211 kext from the 10.4.5 combo update so that works properly now. (tested with 802.11a with WPA encryption)

Audio - Works using the driver from the site mentioned above.

Battery Level - When on battery works - used the updated power management bundle from the above site.

Disk IO - didn't do the disk io fix as it seems to be working properly already.

Tablet Keyboard - No problems

USB - seems to be working (keyboard, memory stick). Not checked if it's full speed yet.

Still to look at:

Display - seems to use a generica driver but defaults to correct resolution

Wacom driver - offical driver doesn't work, not tried the TabletMagic driver yet.

Tablet keyboard mouse nipple - Seems to stop working around 10 seconds after it finishes booting, keyboard still works ??

Tablet buttons - not looked yet

Sleep/Deep Sleep - didn't do anything when I tried it, not looked at again yet.

PCMCIA/SD - not looked as, don't currently use anyway.

Modem - not looked as, don't currently use

VGA out - not looked as, don't currently use

Display rotation - not looked at yet but it's one of the thing I want.

Strange things:

Sleep - seems to kind of work, it does go sleep - harddisk powers down, fan goes off. But screen stays on displaying the previous screen. Wakeup then seems to work as normal ??

Odd...are you sure Wacom's official drivers didn't work? I have a Graphire4 tablet, and both OS X's built-in support, and the Wacom kexts work fine.

Saw a post of the forum that said the TC1000 uses a serial connection rather than a USB connection. The official driver seems to only support USB tablets. Will have a play around with TabletMagic tomorrow.

Not been able to get the digitizer working yet. Tried TabletMagic and it does not recognise it. Looks like it's caused by the way in which the digitizer works on the tc1100, it needs to be activated before it can be recognised. Have left a message in the TabletMagic post to see if anyone knows what to do.

Not had a chance to try anything else today.

curious - if you don't have a usb drive for this guy - how do you install? I don't have the hardware for this guy - and whipped up a usb/dvd drive; but after a failed install the usb drivers aren't working either - so no more installs....yay!

What in all of living hell are you talking about? Oh, and back on TC1100 topic just thought I should update a bit:

My 10.4.6 JaS install is great! Bluetooth works out of the box, video works with NO ADDED KEXTS ...I CAN PLAY HD VIDEO IN QUICKTIME!

Although I still would like to get a video kext to work in the future and try for CI, etc. and rotation.

Powermangagement bundle update allows battery monitor and works great

Updated to 10.4.7 worked ok as well but same kernel. When I get brave I will try other kernels. I tryed a 10.4.8 koolkal update in the past and it broke it.

Obviously we want the tablet features to work but if I can get the mouse nub to work, at least it will be a mac laptop. Right now, I need to use my bluetooth mouse with it.

Hello together

You write that it possible are to OSX on the TC1100 to be install.

I try already for weeks without success.

I tried nearly each version ( iAtkos, Jas, Uphuk, Kalway,....

The only version which I install could was " XxX_10.5.6_Leo_Install_Disc_Rev1 SSE2/SSE3 AMD/Intel THX @ kind " but it does not start.

There is someone that it instaliert and thus works.

The JAS 10.46 does not go .

I am grateful around each assistance.
