first of all my system is like that:

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 nForce430 Chipset

HDDs: 2 X SATA Drives

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+

2GB DDR400 as ram and ati x1600xt as gpu

i have the iso file named "JMOSX1048ALLPACH" burnt on a dvd; which is hopefully Jas 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3..........

as you may have guessed while trying to install form the DVD; i cant select the destination to install as i have SATA drives :thumbsdown_anim:

i searched the forum and the google and everywhere; but couldnt find a guide; that DOES NOT reqıires me to FORMAT MY ALL DRIVES! i have XP & Vista & Linux installed working fine atm with grub and also have a veeerrryyy big (lol) media archive. so formatting all dirves is not an option for me... :( instead i have only formated the linux partition.

my disks are like that atm:

sda _ SATA HDD 1 (250GB)

* Partition 1 - Vista 230GB

* Partition 2 - Unallocated 20GB

sdb _ SATA HDD 2 (320GB)

* Partition 1 - XP (320GB)

so; all i want is, someone please point me to a guide w/o formatting my main drives so that i can install on sata; or help meeeee!!!

I have the same problem but there is a solution:

-Download THIS file. (I don't know if you have to unzip it first)

-Save it on a bootable USB device.

-Boot to your OSX installation dvd

-Then go to the terminal and type in:

/Applications/Utilities/Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Installer [enter]

-Then browse to the location where you saved your file of step 1.

-And I think that's it.

If you have any more questions or something you can go to this topic.

ok, so i tried what u said and here's the results:

*when i write /Applications/Utilities/Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Installer [enter] in terminal it gives an error saying that Info.plist is missing (or sth like that).

*also i formatted my usb flash drive in windows; then while macos installer was loading it said "unable to mount disk0" at black screen.

*my usb flash showed up on disk utility; but no partitions was on it; so i re-formatted it MacOs Extended (journal) and now windows doesnt recognize it and says i need to format the drive.... so how to get that file i downloaded to macos????

more important, why i get that erorr...!?!??? more help please :)

@kejkz: nope i cant see any drives but DVDROM in disk utility...

---------------------------------------------------------------

edit: i have also tried to install on vmware which finished succesfully; but its not booting up :(

it just shows the grey screen and the apple logo, but stuck there...

so here is the news:

as writing "/Applications/Utilities/Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Installer" in terminal gave me errors, i tried: "cd /Applications/Utilities/Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/" then "./Install" and a browser window opened to select a package to install.

ive also formatted my USB flash as Mac Extended Journal, and transfered the package file to it via my old iBook G3 500. then re-started the installation on my pc using the DVD; opened terminal, installed the package.

but there are some problems while installing package:

***the NForce4 SATA install shows only the USB Flash as install destination

***so i installed NForce4SATA to USB Flash, as expected nothing changed, i still cant see my SATA drives.

***i also got errors like "couldnt run bless" and "unable to mounnt ........sth...sth........" after the installation finished, in terminal...

any ideas?????

bump bump bump...

so, nobody gonna help me out????

i've totally no idea whats that error....

or better; why there is still not a Nforce4 sata guide anywhere??????? (i dont mean the 30pages topic, which is impossible to read completely)

this is getting really annoying. :P

try methods that steve star mentioned..

no need to reinstall your macos..just install the patch using installation dvd..

and make sure your usb drive is bootable so macos can read it..

or trythis dude methods..

search dude..and read that 30 page post..it's there somewhere..

i can see my usb flash in osx nstallation.

i've also downloaded and installed the *easy install* package for nforce4 sata drivers.

but:

I dont have any runnig macosx in my pc atm;

so, while i'm installing the driver it also asks for a destination ,where it doesnt show my SATA HDD; so theres no destination to install the package!?!?!?

if i dont install the driver package, then i cant install osx86 on my pc.

if i could install osx86 on my sata normally, then i wouldnt need the driver pack.

what im doing wrong?!??????

*boot pc form dvd

*open terminal

*run installer, select the downloaded thing

*THEN WHERE TO CHOOSE DESTINATION FOR DRIVER PACK!? it also aks for destination (this step is not the osx86 install; this is the driver pack install)

again, i dont have any osx running on my pc; so please tell howto install that driver thingy *more clearly*

pls :rolleyes:
