I am using a gateway with via chipset, amd64m proc with sse3, and i am unable to get my ipod working with 10.4.1, as well as an external hd. i dmesg and get this:

and if i leave it plugged in i get gray message saying i need to reboot, any help? Im getting the dvd for 10.4.3 right now, maybe that will help...

I don't even own an iPod. But what I THINK is the problem is/are the following:

  • OSx86 may not come with iPod drivers designed for Intel Macs (seeing as iTunes was not)
  • I read somewhere that HFS+ partitions have to be made differently for Intel Macs than for average Macs

Seriously, though, don't go by my judgment! :)
