Alright so i started my mac installation for the like 5th time because of errors and this time im getting a bit mad. I installed it and now when i boot up my computer i get HFS+ partition error. I have 2 partitons for Win XP (like 45gb) and one for Mac 10.4.7 (10gb). Now i have not done the zero out disk at all (just said to do it once and skipped it), should i do it? Also i have mac on a extended partiton should i make it primary? If i do what will happen to my windows xp partition because i will still want to get to that.

Thank you.

cd / <-- Press enter

If you install it natively,

1. Make sure your EXT Part. has been actived (use PQ)

If not, log on Winxp and type in "diskpart" in command box. Then follow this

''list disk''--->

''select disk 0'' (or other numbers, chose the disk where MAC system has been installed)

"list part"

"select part 3"(or other numbers, chose the partition where MAC system has been installed)

"active"

"exit"

Reboot

2. If problem insist, install OS selector in Winxp

3. Still not? keep the install DVD of MAC os in driver at booting, and you will see the apple hopefully.

It's preferable to install osx on a primary partition, before the extended partition. If you can make enough place (equal or more to your osx logical partition size) just before the extended partition, then you could move/convert your osx logical partition into a primary partition there (for example by using Acronis Disk Director, or other similar tool).

I myself have a test osx partition in a logical partition; I've been able to make it work by putting it in front of the extended partition (ie the first logical partition). It works well, and boot to it using another osx partition (primary this time); probably could be booted too with chain0 method (didn't test this).

Don't expect much success making a logical partition active though.
