stmkjp
I tried to install 10.4.3 via vmware, keep failure. tried both patch file(from WIKI and from Maxxuss), gave me same results. vmware keeps saying "***VMWARE workstation internal monitor error(bug 9297)***", though i added "paevm=true" to *.vmx file. I use W3N nb with 1.7 Pentium M and i855PM chipset. what's wrong and how can I resolve this problem? can anybody help me? jodo
I have the same Problem with a Pentium M 1,5 (Banias) and the same Chipset. From what AIDA32 reports, the Banias does not support PAE - so I think it is not possible to run 10.4.3 on it. Or does VMWare even compensate a lack of cpu support? Can't imagine... Is there a chance that there will be a hack for making the PAE feature obsolete? Zaico
Nop no hack... I get this problem.. " *** Virtual machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset) *** The virtual machine just suffered a stack fault in kernel mode. On a real computer, this would amount to a reset of the processor. It can be caused by an incorrect configuration of the virtual machine, a bug in the operating system, or a problem in the VMware Workstation software. Press OK to reboot virtual machine or Cancel to shut it down. " I cant find out why it's doing it... I've followed maxxuss's instruction on how to boot within VMWARE. My iso file has the same MD5 as his. My problem is that the patcher doen't seem to work. After I patch with ppf patcher, I can't see any other kernels in the root patch of the ISO file that I mounted in DAEMON tools. I only see mack-kernel and none of the others who are supposed to be there (they are in the patch I assume): mach_kernel.sse2: supports SSE2 CPUs, requires NX/XD CPU support, mach_kernel.nonx: supports SSE2 CPUs, does not require NX/XD CPU support, mach_kernel.orig: the original kernel, for use with SSE3 CPUs with NX/XD support Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/4693-help-paevmtrue-not-work-in-vmware/#findComment-30513 Share on other sites
