adi1968a sound card

i have the adi 1986a working as regard to 2 ch sound, which is fine, im after trying to get mic input working if possible, under

system prefs and sound i have no input available, i have used and followed the appleAC97 method,

any ideas would be much apreciated, skype is a must to keep in contact with peeps in the uk

It may be that the system isn't using the AC97 driver but is using Azalia instead.

 

Open a terminal and type in kextstat to see what .kexts are being loaded.

i think you may be right, its odd that it only started after i copied the new appleac97 kext across,

hes my output from kextstat,

if htis is that case, do i just need to remove the azilia audio kext?

Yes drag Azalia out of the way but keep it you may need to go back to it if things don't work out with the AC97 kext

Hi, took it away and now nothing, i can kextload the ac97 with no issues.

i seemt o have come to an end

ive copied back the Apple Azalia kext, and sounds has come back,

i do have an old soundcard here pci, but i think it is a aztech 4d wave so i dont think even thats a goer.

anybody out there have any ideas?

Can you please tell me how you get your adi1986a working? I have the same soundchip but I'm not able to use it.

you have to load apple azalia audio kext file using kextload in terminal. you can find that file in the installation dvd or here, on forums
