badlydrawn
I'm using 10.4.8 osx86 and I'm using a logitech optical mouse hooked up through PS2. It works fine excet that when I browse through folders, whenever I RIGHT click something ( even when I hold the option key and left click ), all my folder windows close and its very very annoying. I can't copy and paste anything from one folder to another because it always closes whenever I try to right click. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know of a way I can fix this? Thank you. P.S. This is a newb question, but I don't know what program I can use to play DVD movies, quicktime wont and neither will Windows media player. I can't seem to find a build in DVD program at all. Anyways...thanks! badlydrawn
I was messing around with this problem and discovered the problem has to do with FINDER. Has anyone else dealt with this problem or are there any fixes for stupid FINDER? Thank you. jonokti
I have the same problem but it's random and I used this mouse on another hackintosh for 6months and it never happened on the old one. badlydrawn
Did you find a solution to the problem? It's really frustrating me because I need to copy files around and "Get Info" but like as soon as I right click or option+click, it pretty much resets the finder and everything closes. Do you think it could be some sort of conflict with a software I already have? Thanks! Vipersfate
Sounds like Finder might have a corruption issue on the install. But that's just really an educated guess. I had similar issues with spotlight in the past Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46339-really-annoying-right-click-problem/#findComment-331961 Share on other sites
sg
no idea about your mouse issue (did you install any usb or mouse drivers?). however, for your dvd issue, there is 'dvd player.app' in Applications. if its missing you should try and install it from your dvd. badlydrawn
Thanks guys, Yeah, I'm missing DVD Player.App. So you're saying I can install it if I insert my JAS 10.4.8 DVD? deathman
Have you got stuffit 11 installed? If you have, the right click problem is related to stuffit. easily fixed go to /library/contextualmenuitems/ and remove the stuffit item.. no more right click errors Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46339-really-annoying-right-click-problem/#findComment-332038 Share on other sites
