directedition
Is there a proper way to install them? I just download them and copy them to System/Library/Extentions then change the ownership to root:wheel, but my hardware never seems to work when I reboot. I moved a .kext for my audio chipset (It's an Nforce 500 realtek audio and I'm using the 8.8.1 kernel required) and for my network controller (a marvell chip) but when I reboot, neither work or even show up in the System Profiler. Am I just being stupid and missing something obvious? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46190-newbie-question-on-kext-files/ Share on other sites
Dainix
Did you delete the Extensions.kext and Extensions.mkext after you installed the file? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46190-newbie-question-on-kext-files/#findComment-330723 Share on other sites
directedition
No, I did not. I guess that by deleting those it will force OSX to rebuild them and pick up the new drivers? graphic Design
After replace any kexts, U must delete all kextcache & run repair permission then restart. Other way, In our forum, somebody wrote one script for doing that actions automatic, I should search for it.
