I just bought a Geforce N6200 and am trying to upgrade so I can install the titan.kext which I was told only works on 10.4.8. Is that true and if it is will it work if my CPU is only SSE2? Sorry for the stoopid ?'s I'm a nOOb at all this. MUCHO THANKS!!!!!! Zizou Posted March 20, 2007 Share Posted March 20, 2007 first of all, 10.4.8 isn't working with titan if you don't have the correct kernel! Asfar as I'm aware, there are 2 JAS 10.4.8 DVD's going around, the 10.4.8 INTEL one, and the 10.4.8.amd.intel.sse2.sse3 one. The last has the 8.8.1 kernel which enables the use of titan/natit (both the same pretty much..) Also, when installing make sure you use the customize option! Because if you don't you can't install the proper packages (in your case titan/natit + the SSE2 8.8.1 kernel!) Good luck! Ps, I suggest you take a look at the links in my signature, they are pretty much about 10.4.8 + the 8.8.1 kernel + natit / titan. idividebyzero Posted March 20, 2007 Share Posted March 20, 2007 The JaS 10.4.8 amd/intel iso with ppf1 has titan and AGPgart with it. The amd/intel iso without ppf1 does not have titan or agpgart. Since the ppf1 iso comes with AGPgart.kext you MUST set your AGP aperture to 128mbs in the bios, or it wont boot outside safemode. For that you may have to press ctrl+F1 at the bios screen if you cant find agp aperture in the normal menus, some BIOS versions have secret menus for agp and voltage settings.
