skotwarr
i have tiger-x86-flat.img 5.99 GB and I try to follow the "official" instructions:
(13) Now type into the command prompt "dd if=tiger-x86-flat.img of=\\?\Device\HarddiskY\PartitionX bs=512 skip=63 --progress" You change "Y" to the hard disk number you partition is on and x to which partition number you have created the os x partition on using diskpart so for an example: "dd if=tiger-x86-flat.img of=\\?\Device\Harddisk0\Partition2 bs=512 skip=63 --progress. Note: harddisk0 is what it will be for most of you if you only have one hard drive. It should now be copying OS X to your hard drive. Note that -- progress is actually two dashes.)

I type the same thing except for Harddisk1\Partition1 or Harddisk1\Partition0 and I keep getting this error:
Error native opening file: 0the operation completed successfully

I am trying to install it on my external HDD that is half primary partition hd1,0 and unallocated hd1,1. I have tried the instructions entering both partitions with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? please help?!

Edited March 18, 2007 by skotwarr Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45633-please-help-install/ Share on other sites

kernalzero
first off you are using the old deadmoo 10.4.1 image file that is outdated by about a year and a half. just delete it because you can't even update that version, there have been too many system changes since that release. My suggestion is to go and download one of the many readily available JaS 10.4.8 install dvd's from your favourite torrent site, check the wiki for your hardware's compatibility and read one of the installation guides available there (wiki is located at the top of the page on the right side 'OSx86 Project') ;-) i'm not making a link you should always know where it is...and go!
