megavolkan
I can say it is one of the most common problems about installing X86. No solution so far. We have an E-bios error sticky. So still no official explanation about this HUGE problem (JaS, Myzar whrere are you?). The so called PPF patch doesn't work (mostly). Can we make this sticky? I think there should be a way to get this stupid problem down! Heeeey! Can you hear meeee?? Is there anybody out there Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45619-comapplebootplist-enough-of-that/ Share on other sites
davidovi
Did you try to erase the disk using the DiskUtility from 10.4.6? Doing this with the one in 10.4.8 leads to boot/blessing problems that causes this behavior. Bluetrax
ERASING. If you read the options, it says the first erase options doesnt erase files or foldes? something like that, and the 2nd option zeros out? So...basicly...format hd with fdisk, partition primary and set active? Then boot JaS DVD..disk utiltiy "partition" extended journaled? tomtefar
Megavolkan. Sad to say this, but your BIOS / HDD controller is just not up to the job. Someone would have to re-write to boot loader for it to work on your computer and I don't think I've read anyone planning to do that. Or if even if the code for the boot loader is available. Hagar
The short reason why it's not a sticky, is that its not "a" problem.. it's 1 symptom which can indicate several things.. those posting this error don't seem to realise that it gives no information whatsoever on why it has occurred, although most ususally it means that the darwin bootloader has failed to find a valid partition for some reason. kennykilla
I had the same error message many times. It looks like after installation from DVD-RW disc Macos writes something on it. So I can't install Macos again from the same disc. The solution was to boot in Windows and burn disc again. If you use DVD-RW maybe you have to try DVD-R instead?
