I need to get a file off my OSx86 computer ASAP!

The operating system WILL NOT BOOT. I tried installing VMWare Fusion, but I got "You need to restart your computer". It wont boot anymore. Help!

I have:

SUSE Live CD

Slax

How can I access a Mac OS X partition? SUSE wont work.

I'm downloading Ubuntu (Live CD), and I'm going to try this:

I really need this document, it is for college and it is due tomorrow.

I have no idea what to do. If I can't get this file I'm screwed!

*edit*

Ubuntu finished downloading. I'm going to give that website a shot (see link above).

Another edit:

Ubuntu Live CD wont boot. I don't know what to do!

Well, you should be able to boot from the Ubuntu LiveCD. If your graphics card is not recognized, then you can just boot Ubuntu without the GUI. Or try burning the LiveCD again, but with lower speed (4x).

And even if it boots, you will only be able to read the HFS+ partition, since it's Journaled, and no write access granted to any other OS. But this shouldn't be a problem, as you only want to copy a file from the HFS+ partition.

So the command from the link I posted should work?

I can boot into single user mode via the -s and -x flags.

How can I delete the folderLibrary/Application Support/VMare Fusion in singleuser mode?

I can't burn a Ubuntu CD. I don't have any more CDs and its too late to get more (2:18AM).

Can I do this in SLAX linux?

Sorry, I'm not a geek in Linux :), but I remember that when I screwed up my OS X partition, and started the system from the Ubuntu LiveCD, the mount command was not enough (even with the -t hfsplus parameter) to mount the HFS+ partition. I had to install the hmount or hfmount packages, or something like that - but you can still play around with the mount command, maybe you will be more successful than me.

Thanks for the info.

I'm going to get a new CD to burn Ubuntu and give it a shot. :)
