bruin4life
Ok. I have: Asus P5B Deluxe WIFI/AP Motherboard. Core2Duo E6300 Processor currently overclocked to 2.95 Ghz. (with Adequate cooling obviously) WD Raptor 150 Harddrive in AHCI mode. 1GB Corsair DDR2800 Ram I still get the DUAL CORE STUTTER. This is AFTER I have tried all of the following many times in different orders. - Have tried JaS 10.4.8 regular, with ppf1, with ppf1 and ICH8R path, Paulicat method to upgrade from 10.4.4 to 10.4.8 then replace kernel and AppleSMBIOS.kext - I've ran Semthex's kernels from Beta8 all the way to the recent ones from #kernel - I've ran other people's kernels as well - I have played with the extensions folder by deleting some kexts that people say we dont need - I've researched the internet on this topic for close to 4 months straight trying to find a solution from the Linux guys as well - I've underclocked, overclocked, ran at stock speeds, ran Memtest with 100 passes to ensure its not memory - I've tried MOST things if not everything in the book. AFTER all this time talking to many people (even Semthex himself a few times) I have made just one advancement in this issue. And that is if I go to the BIOS, and DISABLE ACPI 2.0 (but leave ACPI APIC Enabled), the stuttering gets significantly less, but still pops up every now and then. Basically it goes from stuttering once every minute to once every 10 minutes or so. Asus P5b guys, please chime in and help out. I know there are alot of you on this forum that run this board. I know the 965 boards have been cursed from the start with the ICH8R and lack of EFI, but please offer your input and help out. PLEASE I'VE SPENT TOO MUCH TIME ON THIS I'M DESPERATE. Thanks.... WaldMeister
- I've underclocked, overclocked, ran at stock speeds, ran Memtest with 100 passes to ensure its not memory I guess this also means adding fsb=133 to com.apple.boot.plist? bruin4life
i've ran many kernels, and the latest ones from semthex detect Fsb automatically. no need to do fsb=133 (or in my case fsb=420). trexplorer
I've had an E6300 running on a P5B deluxe for several months, oveclocked to 3.3 Ghz with both cores and no stutter ... I've installed 10.4.6 thru 10.4.9 without problems ... Unsure why you're getting stutter .. Bad MB or cpu ? How does it work under windows ? Good luck.
