AdamBeutler
Hey everyone, I have a dell e1505 with 10.4.9 installed and I can't get the audio to come out of just one port. My volume keys work and sound comes out of both the headphone jack and speakers. When headphones are plugged in the speakers still put out sound. Mute also doesn't work, it gets really quiet but doesn't mute. I have the Sigmatel 9200 install with the HDAPatcher 1.15. I also have the DaemonES kernel installed. Any help that can be given would be much appreciated! Neonkoala
Again, I only just answered a post just like this, please read first. The HDApatcher isn't finished yet so yes this is a known bug, it will be resolved eventually. No fix currently. AdamBeutler
There are so many repeat question because it is so hard to sift through the ton's of articles. I seached for this problem and most of the other articles had nothing to do with this and the ones that did didn't answer my question. At least now I know it has to do with the HDA patcher and now the sigmatel dump that I got. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45436-dell-laptop-speakers-wont-mute-when-headphones-are-plugged-in/#findComment-325403 Share on other sites
hecker
There are so many repeat question because it is so hard to sift through the ton's of articles. You're absolutely right. But there is help, for example: -Use the advanced search function with boolean connectors (+ and -) to fine tune your results and double quote (" ") to search for exact strings matches, ie. "dell e1505". -Display the topics as posts (instead of titles) and use the search function of your browser (ctrl-f) to skim though the pages quickly. -Use the little search box on the bottom-left side of every thread page. That will restrict the search ONLY that thread. Think of the forum as a jungle and you as a hunter tracking a prey: -learn to pick up a scent and follow it. -follow your track to the very end -be patient (probably the most important rule of them all!) Take care, hecker Edited March 16, 2007 by hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45436-dell-laptop-speakers-wont-mute-when-headphones-are-plugged-in/#findComment-325409 Share on other sites
AdamBeutler
Thank you so much for your help! It's nice to see there are still people willing to help out the new people. I just got this new machine and it is quite a chore to get everything running right. Now if someone can explain how to use the IRC rooms to get the latest kernels and info I should be set!
