arawata Posted March 15, 2007 Share Posted March 15, 2007 Apologies if this has been posted before, but I found a solution to my problem with booting OS X hanging at the grey Apple logo screen. Thought I should share in case any one else has this problem. Asus F3JP, Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz, 2GB, X1700 JaS OS X 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSe2 SSE3 installed from burned DVD VMWare Server 1.0.2 Eventually got the install to work thanks to lurking around this forum and discovering the need to change HDD setting to IDE. But booting would always hang at the grey screen. By trial and error I found I needed to select (at the Custom install screen) the AGP version of the ATI x1x00 graphics driver. Seems it may be an incompatibility with the PCI driver. Anyway, working now. And loving it!
