loonymonkey
I re-enabled Keyboard and Mouse USB support in my BIOS once I had everything working well. Now OSX acts very sluggish, and (3) icons showed up after reboot in the Dock. The icons have a " ? " and when I hover over them, its for iDVD, iPhoto, and another. Where did these come from? I know that its recommended to disable USB support in the bios, but I would like to use so I can use my USB keyboard for dual boot OS selection. I also ran xbench after enabling usb support, and my score was in the upper 30s. It was about 89 before this. Anyone know why enabling USB support does this? Any ideas where the (3) icons came from? o_OR4N^_^
for me, i have disabled the USB keyboard and mouse in the bios You have to run the PC initially with no USB plugged in once you get to the darwin bootloader plug the keyboard and mouse back in as soon as you get to the dock and finder loading up Then search the forums for a Generic ECHI (USB2.0) kext. Worked a charm for me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45388-changed-some-settings-in-bios-3-icons-with-show-up-in-dock/#findComment-324562 Share on other sites
hecker
The three "?" icons mean that the links to the original files is gone. Maybe you moved some applications to a different location? hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45388-changed-some-settings-in-bios-3-icons-with-show-up-in-dock/#findComment-324570 Share on other sites

Worked a charm for me Where you able to turn usb keyboard and mouse after adding the Generic ECHI kext ? USB works fine for me currently, and I didn't add that kext file. If I add this, will I be able to enable USB keyboard in the BIOS? The main reason I need this is so I can use the dual boot loader with my USB keyboard. That is because these links are automatically added when you setup a new user's profile. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45388-changed-some-settings-in-bios-3-icons-with-show-up-in-dock/#findComment-324581 Share on other sites

I never did have those icons when I did my initial install. Are these programs included with any of the OSX86 isos? Yes, it is quite odd. I had the problem when I created my second user account. I think those programs are included when you buy a mac. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45388-changed-some-settings-in-bios-3-icons-with-show-up-in-dock/#findComment-324640 Share on other sites
