Niall
Hello there, i just got osx and vista dual booting and my next concern was getting audio to work on osx. I have a Sony vaio and have built in Realtek Ac97 audio. However im unsure as how to get more information on my audio. In device manager it simply says High definition audio, unlike people posting here saying ALC650 etc. If it helps i have a GMA900 video card. Also when i try and play a video i get an error (from VLC player) that i have no video or audio. Could it be something i have to change in the display options because im using the dongle trick to boot up? cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45139-realtek-ac97-audio-not-working/ Share on other sites

bertie_uk
Do you have windows dual boot? If so you could try something like SiSoft Sandra to check the chipset. Otherwise a scan of the Vaio tech specs.
