I have a 10.4.5 DVD and nearly everything worked on my Dell Inspiron 9300. USB, Bluetooth, LAN NIC, Sound, Wireless NIC, and Firewire. I just got the 10.4.8 DVD and sound was broken, no USB, no networking, nothing.

But my nVidia 7800 GTX is workin sweet though! Once I fixed the audio I could even watch DVDs which was a first.

I'm wondering if there is a way I can repair this 10.4.8 DVD with some of the drivers from the 10.4.5 DVD and make all this stuff work on first install. That way I wouldn't have to gimp around with manually fixing a bunch of stuff if I ever have to reinstall again at a later date.

Anyways, thanks for any information anyone might have. Oh.. Or is there a DVD image that has all this stuff working on it somewhere?

What DVD did you use? JaS' SSE2.SSE3.AMD.Intel + ppf1 + diskutil patch works great for me. The latest integrated DVD with all the patches (that I know of) is the same one I mentioned before but with the ICH7 patch. That may work well for you. What hardware do you have by the way?

I have an Inspiron 9300 with a GeForce 7800 GTX Go in it. Maybe I got the wrong/bunk image. This is the image I got:

OSX universal install 10.4.8.JAS AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 kernel Semthex Beta9.iso

Is that not the right one?
