blog
I finally temporarily gave up trying to get my built in sound going on my laptop. Mine is a SigmaTel 9200 but none of the dumps or anything will make it work. So I remembered I already had a pair of Logitech V20 Notebook speakers that are USB powered. I plugged them in and within 2 sec I had sound coming from my Notebook. The sound these speakers give you is lightyears better that the built in speakers also. You can get them from Bestbuy pretty cheap. About $69 - $99 depending on where u live. Good luck, Blog Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44995-those-with-built-in-sound-probs-just-buy-usb-speakers/ Share on other sites

Post your system details and somebody will probably give you some advice. Try doing a search first describing your problem then you may want to start a new thread in this hardware section. wafflezone
No, this isnt really an acceptable fix. USB speakers are expensive, crappy, hard to find, and I dont want extra speakers on my desk. Well, correct if you don't want the extra hardware on your desk. Most do sound crappy and are expensive. The Logitech V20 USB speakers I spoke about are a little expensive but they sound about 2x the size that they really are. Easily portable if needed. Check out the web reviews. I originally wrote this as a solution for those who just can't get their sound working on their laptop. It is a quick, easy fix. Laptop speakers have about the worst sound you can get by the way even if you do get them working.
