Marky Mark
I'm looking for a GeForce AGP card with dual monitors that's pretty inexpensive but I want to make sure it will work with Hacintosh. How can I find out which video cards will work? I have 10.4.7. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44635-what-agp-video-card-work/ Share on other sites

tomnic
Install 10.4.8, otherwise you won't be able to enable QE/CI... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44635-what-agp-video-card-work/#findComment-319568 Share on other sites

WaldMeister
Install 10.4.8, otherwise you won't be able to enable QE/CI... You don't need 10.4.8 for that. Installing 10.4.8 doesn't mean your good to go. For most people it won't get you further then 10.4.4. Installing the right kext/files will get you to a fully compatible system. For Marky Mark: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34068 This should help you out with your Nvidia Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44635-what-agp-video-card-work/#findComment-319588 Share on other sites
tomnic
It is essential to run 10.4.8 to get QE/CI with an nVidia card, 8.4.1 kernel doens't fully work with natit/titan, only resolution change works... so get a fresh new 10.4.8 and start playing mac os X with full effects!!! WaldMeister
I don't know anything about natit/titan, i'm stuck with intel :/ On my old notebook (Acer Aspire 1360) with Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 Go on 10.4.7, I never had problems with the QE/CI, or I just didn't notice.... tomnic
You have infact installed the 8.8.1 kernel (by reading your sign), before having installed it you had normal VESA framebuffer, unaccelerated, which means no 3D games nor accelerated video overlay (apple dvd player not working and other similar programs). QE/CI helps a lot with performance!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44635-what-agp-video-card-work/#findComment-319920 Share on other sites
