grease
I've updated my install to 10.4.8 and installed the "2-port" version of the Realtek audio driver, which finally (tried quite a few methods) gave me a volume control icon, and lists the "Realtek HD Audio" as an output device. However I do not get ANY sound out of my speakers. I've lowered / raised the volume both with on keyboard controls and the icon provided and yet no sound comes out no matter the level. Does anyone have a solution for me? Also if I try to boot the laptop I get "HFS+ Partition Error" unless I have the OSX Install Disc in the drive then it boots fine. Any way to fix that? grease
Alright I've fixed the booting issue, and am now safely and securely dual booting between Vista Home Basic (came with laptop) and Mac OSX. I still have no sound though, anyone have ANY way to help me? grease
Alright doing research i found it to be a Realtek ALC861VD Audio set that is in the laptop. I used the methods found in these forums to edit my .kext files and I still get the same problems, the sound level indicator shows on top left, and my keys can change the "volume" but I get no sound. Sound preferences shows "Realtek HD Audio" under output devices. I am SO frustrated can ANYONE help? Nightwing
bump. Also running a JaS 10.4.8 Tiger install on a Lenovo 3000 c200, and would love to get sound going. I tried to install Leo4Allv3 on this machine too - And that didn't go so great, it dies trying to boot the dvd even with using the flags of: -v -x -s -f -legacy platform=ACPI [or X86PC And I haven't gotten as far as upgrading 10.4.8 to 10.4.11 yet, but I see certain Tiger based softwares require this from Apple amongst others so I'll eventually make that jump, but regardless, I doubt it'd net me any further on getting a kext to provide me with any audio. Also -- Under the audio category of System Profilder, all that is displayed is: "Intel High Definition Audio:" Someone who is more farmiliar with audio on OSx86, would love to hear from you, best regards.
