The Shaun
Every since I upgraded to the new JaS 10.4.8 disc and the Semthex kernel, I've been having a problem with iTunes every time I try to authorize my machine: Anyone have ANY idea how to fix this? I can't play any of my purchased iTunes songs or videos. This sucks! gthlm
I've had this problem ever since I first installed 10.4.6. I'm on the latest 10.4.8 Jas now, without improvement and I've never got to the bottom of it. Interestingly enough I have a pretty much identical system to yours, although I was previously on a D915GUX mobo, and the problem was there too. The nearest I've come to an explanation is that the intel efi/bios combination upsets the authorisation tracking system on the music store. Let me know if you make any progress with this! The Shaun
It worked just fine in 10.4.6 with my old D915GAV board. I don't know what the hell is wrong now. It really sucks because I can't play any of my shows or music that I paid for. BaselineAce
I have the same issue... Do you also have the random application crashes? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43253-itunes-702-memory-error/#findComment-310983 Share on other sites
The Shaun
Nope. Nothing crashes. It's actually stable as hell. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43253-itunes-702-memory-error/#findComment-311204 Share on other sites
Headrush69
It's a known problem. Check out www.semthex.com under DRM for more info. The Shaun
You mean that article on the main page? I don't see what that has to do with this problem. ambrosebfg
I get the same error. My itunes worked on 10.4.6 (AMD) but when I updated to the new, I got that error. My theory is that it is this problem: http://www.macnn.com/articles/06/11/03/os....ypted.binaries/ Please let me know if I'm totally wrong! This is an interesting problem. Luckily I just got started, so I'm going to reinstall the OS from scratch and be much more careful with updates and new software. Jaco
I had the same problem on my laptop and it's because OSX records the MAC address of the 1st network device it detects in installation somewhere and when you change you network devices afterwards, you will get this error. To fix my problem I had to do the en0 to en1 swap for my ethernet, so ethernet did not work on install and wireless detect as ethernet with Jas 10.4.8 install, and when I fix it after install, Itunes gave me this memory error but worked fine when Wireless was detected as Ethernet - so after playing around - this is how I fixed my problem. Disable wireless in Bios Disable Ethernet in Bios Clean install from Jas 10.4.8 DVD Reboot still with no network enabled - copy IONetworkfamily.kext from 10.4.6 (found in another thread on this forum) into /System/Library/Extensions Open DiskUtil and repair permissions Now Enable only Ethernet in Bios and boot OSX, click on network setup and Ethernet should detect - configure and make sure you can connect to Internet. Now reboot again - Enable wireless in BIOS, open network Setup and my network detect as Airport. Now Itunes works perfectly for me, whenever I am connected via LAN or wireless. Hope this helps. The Shaun
That's so not what I wanted to hear. Thank you, though! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43253-itunes-702-memory-error/#findComment-317884 Share on other sites
