noespam Posted February 21, 2007 Share Posted February 21, 2007 i installed jas 10.4.8 in vmware only. i have no network, so i download maxxus extensions. problem is how do i transfer the files to OS X vm? i put the files on a USB drive thinking the USB drive would show up in OS X. it doesn't. my USB mouse and keyboard work though. is there something obvious i'm not doing. i'm os x noob so be gentle. In VMWare, go to VM-->Removable Devices and select the USB drive to connect to the VM. This should be done while OSX86 is running. Google is your friend. I've never used VMWare, but that solution was first on the list when I searched for "vmware usb devices". noespam Posted February 22, 2007 Author Share Posted February 22, 2007 you know that's usually the answer i give people and i didn't follow my advice i feel like a dunce. thanks for being nice about it. unfortunately, it didn't help. i didn't configure the USB device in VMWare until after the installation yesterday. i'm guessing that could be part of the problem. i'm reinstalling. OS X virtual machine is a snail compared to my XP virtual machines. the vmware tools make a huge difference.
