Sleepy Sentry
In order to get OSX86 on my Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop, I'll have to go the vmware route. I've heard of Vmware before, but don't know much about it. If I install OSX86 with VMware, will I have to boot through VMware everytime I use it? If so, will VMware slow down my machine? By how much? Thanks for the help and sorry of the noob question! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43029-vmware-install/ Share on other sites
Sleepy Sentry
Bump. This is a fairly simple question I'm sure someone can answer. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43029-vmware-install/#findComment-307514 Share on other sites
homers
I heard that it is MUCH slower than running it nativly, that is why I am trying to install it without VMware Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43029-vmware-install/#findComment-307520 Share on other sites
Forceman
Yes VMware is much slower than native install and you dont get any type of UI acceleration. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43029-vmware-install/#findComment-307540 Share on other sites
squimmy
After you've installed through VMWare, I'm pretty sure the speed is the same as if you installed it natively. It's only the install that's slow. Don't quote me on that though - I'm not entirely sure.
