kevlong
Hi there, I've installed Vista Ultimate RTM on a MacBook C2D using Boot Camp 1.1.2. On the whole successfull with Bluetooth (Apple keyboard and Mightly Mouse), Wireless and Sound working well. What I'm not sure about is using Windows Update to apply Vista updates. Can I just set it to do this automatically, should I review updates (and if so what should I avoid applying) or should I avoid updates until the next Boot Camp/ Leopard? Many thanks, Kevlong Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42893-using-windows-update-after-vista-rtm-install-on-a-macbook/ Share on other sites

erbic
Windows Update is perfectly safe to use. Only thing it does is update WINDOWS system files; there's no way it can or will touch Mac system files. I'd avoid any hardware drivers, though. For all we know, it could recommend something that would screw with Mac hardware support. Then again, I don't trust Windows Update's driver recommendations, anyway. kevlong
Thanks for the helpful posts. On the subject of hardware drivers then, would you include the GMA950 Vista update in that list?
