grav
I have a P4 2.4 GHz with SSE2 but no SSE3. I'm currently running OS X 10.4.6 on it, but I'm wondering if I can get better SSE3 emulation with another version of OS X? Which version should I use, and is it possible to upgrade from my current version or is a reinstall necessary? walterav
It depends on the kernel, and therefor on the osx version. Semthex made a sse2 kernel for osx 10.4.8 "881". This one is already integrated in the newest "JAS "intel/AMD" sse2/sse3 1048 installation DVD", you will find it in the usual places, but keep in mind that you download one thats not more than a month old, the newest one is stated with ppf2 addon for fix in disk utility. The sse3 emulation is good but not finished jet, but all the apple apps are working for me except apple dvdplayer... videonlan is working but generates errors... goodluck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42874-sse3-emulation/#findComment-306577 Share on other sites
