Hagar
start X11, and in xterm type: ssh -X nix.box.hostname.or.ip (options for ports & login/password as appropriate) then once logged in, just launch whatever apps you want to use, adding an & to keep the terminal so for instance: firefox & or nautilus & and they should just appear before your eyes. 68030
well, if i get what you're trying to say about right is that one of your boxes runs windows? if so, you could try and enable remotedesktop - that's a built in tool of windows. and for macintosh there's a remote desktop tool from mircosoft. i've been using it and it works. google will tell you how and where to get it. Windows XP home cannot run remote desktop, it's deliberately disabled. And M$ Remote Desktop sucks horribly on osx/intel, use tsclientx instead. Alucard!
So what you are trying to say, that it's impossible to run remote desktop on home version? Dame! Then I have to restore my XP professional back! Bloody damn Microsoft!
