Roy Jovero
Hey all. I'm having problems with Disk Repair. The story goes something like this... I wanted to repair my HD and said that it needed some minor repair. Then the repair process started and after about 2 or 3 minutes, it quits and says something along the lines of "Could not complete repair. Process quit." I'll get the exact wording later on when I'm off work. Now does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be? I have a ton of stuff that I want to keep and don't have a USB HD to back my stuff up. That being said, I really don't want to have to reformat. So is there a possibility of major damage down the line if the problem isn't solved? Roy Jovero
More info as promised. First Aid Failed: Disk Utility stopped verifying "Macintosh HD" because the following error was encountered: The underlying task reported failure on exit. It also said that the Volume Header needs minor repair. erbic
You can't repair the boot volume while you're booted on it. You have to restart, boot from your Install DVD, and use the Disk Utility on the Install DVD to repair your disk.
