Usually when some kind of application is installed. Then to uninstall it you have to run this application again and it will give you, at least it should give you, a opportunity to uninstall it. Now this is the user interface only how to uninstall it with command line, I don't know. :-)

You go to Applications and drag the *application name*.app file to the Trash. Then empty the trash. That's usually all there is to it.

So if you wanted to delete iLife, go to Applications and trash iTunes, iMovie, iWeb, GarageBand, iDVD, and iPhoto. Might want to go to /Users/*Your Account Name*/Library/Application Support and delete any corresponding folders for the iLife programs. I know GarageBand has one, I'm not sure about the others.

The whole thing where you run the installer again and get the uninstall option usually only works with package installers, e.g. applications installed with an Installer package. Apps you drag out of a zip or disk image typically don't have this function. True, iLife installs with a package install. But if you examine the contents of said package, you realize it only contains directives on where to put the .app files for the programs.
