Infamous Ritz
This should be a simple question for you guru's out there. I just recently installed OSX 10.4.6 (myz release), it works flawlessly. It detected me ac97 audio, my 2 dvd burners, everything works great. The only problem is my video card, I tried starting Warcraft 3 and it gave me a no OpenGL driver found, or something similar. Nvidia's website dosn't have OSX drivers, im new to OSX, can anyone tell me how i can get my Fx 5700LE Fully functional with Osx? Purple Puppy
Apparently NVidia's website doesn't have OSX drivers since the only computers designed to run OSX are apples. You should download the Natit (or Titan) driver for NVidia, but before that you must upgrade to kernel 8.8.1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42327-nvidia-video-card-help/#findComment-302504 Share on other sites
Infamous Ritz
How would I go about upgrading the kernel? I'll do some searching while I wait for a reply, thanks for the help by the way. Purple Puppy
Download Semthex's kernel. Mifik's would do too. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42327-nvidia-video-card-help/#findComment-302518 Share on other sites
joe75
You should look for the newest JaS 4.8 and install from there, you can't apply 8.8.1 kernel to a version under 10.4.8. I had full support from Titan and Natit with 5700LE Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42327-nvidia-video-card-help/#findComment-302523 Share on other sites
Infamous Ritz
Man, more downloading, I was just so happy I got 10.4.6 and it seems that this version is the only one that booted the installer(out of trying 10.4.4, 10.4.7, 10.4.5) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42327-nvidia-video-card-help/#findComment-302528 Share on other sites
joe75
Thems the breaks You'll not get support without new kernel 10.4.8 I cant post a link, but search jas on demon and get Feb.11, you could also get the patch added today by bikedude. You should have no problems installing the new JaS, on first boot, delete Natit if you dont use dual display and edit in only your dev id into NVDANV40Hal, GeForce, and NVDAResman Edited February 14, 2007 by joe75 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42327-nvidia-video-card-help/#findComment-302538 Share on other sites
somewhatsmart
After much painful investigation I happily have my dual display working on my custom desktop but as you can see still no CI/QE: Chipset Model: nVidia GeForce FX 5700LE Type: Display Bus: AGP VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0343 Revision ID: 0x00a1 Displays: AL2016W: Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported S/T 76V: Resolution: 1152 x 870 @ 75 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported I am using "JaS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3". I installed and only selected the Intel and NV40 options. Afterward, I removed the Titan.kext and installed the Natit_edited.kext.zip rebooted and voila! Now on to solve the CI/QE issue. XQYZ
Now on to solve the CI/QE issue. If Natit/Titan hdn't done that already, there's no way doing this, same thing was on my Nvidia 4 MX. somewhatsmart
You might be right. I tried a few more things to no avail: - I removed AGPGart (2.1): this disabled my second monitor - I installed AGPGart (2.2): dual is back but still no CI/QE Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42327-nvidia-video-card-help/#findComment-375545 Share on other sites
