Schwinn555
I'd really like to continue using my Apple ADB extended Keyboard with my hacintosch. Anyone know if it's possible? The iMate ADB says no drivers for Tiger 10.4( let alone MacIntel) but does work with PC's. There is at least one other brand but talks about PC use not newer Mac use. Anyone know anything about this? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42038-adb-to-usb-adapters/ Share on other sites
frizbot
lol, yeah, they exist. Expensive though. There's a modern USB keyboard available that uses the old keyswitches that Apple used, but its also expensive. Better to go with a new keyboard and retire ADB for good. palopalo
iMate works fine here on my Hackintosh. Expensive, but the old Apple Extended Keyboard is worth the expense... Well that's good news! So your just plugging it in and it works ? I wouldn't expect there to be any drivers for MacIntell since there aren't for Tiger on PPC. Once you get used to the Apple ADB Extended keyboard it's hard to use the cheap feeling USB keyboards that seem like they won't last long. Mine still works like new and I've used it with 3 or 4 Macs for 5 going on 10 years! I blow the crumbs out once in a while (birthday candle style no canned air) and that 's been it. The Matias Tactle Pro keyboard is the high priced USB replacement for the old Apple keyboard. Sells for $130.00 or so. Sold out and on back order they can't make them fast enough. It uses simular keys as the old ones. Clearly many people are loving them but some are saying feels like a cheap imitation and isn't as quiet. Thanks for any info on adapters. Give up and use USB comments while expected are a waste of time ;-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/42038-adb-to-usb-adapters/#findComment-301215 Share on other sites
