I recently stumbled upon a tool called "TechTool Protogo".

This can make a bootable image of OSX (universal) onto any external device, including a USB Stick/ Jumo Drive.

The cool thing is that it allows you to easily add any other apps you want to run at boot-time from the removable device.

Where I am going with this is trying to find a means to easily do the following:

1) Quickly boot OSX for demo purposes

2) Easily expand/Shrink OSX86 partitions on main HD

3) Experiment with Apps "outside" of the main HD/OS

CAN THIS BE MADE TO WORK ON A HACKINTOSH? ( boot OSX86 on non-Apple hardware )

The reason I have high confidence this is doable is because unlike a bootable CD/DVD, a USB Stick is writable after the fact. Therefore the standard OSX 10.4.8 installed on it which would not be patched to run on non-macs could be replaced with the one running on the PC the install was made from. This will at least ensure the USB stick boots on that machine anytime.

Hmmm... interesting, but it did not work for me. I think I have the wrong version of "bless" and can't find the one from 10.4.4

I used a 10.4.7 install on the machine and the 10.4.6 Jas DVD

Also, installing on 2GB does not work as smooth as "advertised" since there is not enough room to install the base intel package normally added in "options" during the install so I had to install eash folder individually... unsure if that had anythig to do with it...

Has anyone succeded at this?
