optimusp
Hello everyone, I'm wondering if Jas's version (10.4.3 to 10.4.8) will run on my hardware, and if so, which version is best. Here are the specs for my laptop: Compaq Presario V2000 Processor: AMD Turion 64 ML-28 (mmx, 3d-now, sse, sse2, sse3) Chipset: ATI Xpress 200 (RS480) Memory: 1280mb Wireless: Broadcom 43xx Display: 14.1inch wxga 1280×768 (ie, wide screen). So, do I have a fighting chance? Thanks for the help! munky
you have SSE3, so you not only have a chance, you have a good chance. not sure about your chipset etc, but grab a 10.4.8 disc and give it a shot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41560-do-i-even-have-a-chance-with-this-hardware/#findComment-297337 Share on other sites

squimmy
That chipset might cause a problem - it is for me. You should you look into the vmware topic in the genius bar if you have troubles running the disk. optimusp
I was able to install OSX under vmware fine. And it runs fine under vmware. However, the partition I installed it on is a logical partition ie "extended". Doh! Because of this, I keep getting a chainloader error, or a HFS+ error. So, I'm going to reinstall it via VMware to my primary (first) partition. Hopefully that fixes everything.
