munky
This question is asked approximately a bajillion times a day. The answer, as always, is to check the HCLs on the wiki, search the forum and READ. In the tutorials section, you'll find a thread entitled 'Building my first osx86 box' (or similar) by Bofors. There is a follow-on thread as well, about building a Conroe box. These are a good reference for building a hackintosh. Alternatively, see my sig for a 99%-compatible dual-core setup Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41411-homemade-inte-based-mac/#findComment-296156 Share on other sites
manw
you should check the HCL : http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.4.8 . Should cover up your question. Prasys
Huh , I am not being rude here Just get a mac...Simple , you have 100% working hardware Oh by the way there is no such thing as 100% working hackintoshes. At the most , you can get 99.5% working hack ...So dont rant , if you can't get your 7.1 surroundsound to work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41411-homemade-inte-based-mac/#findComment-296193 Share on other sites
Brave
Prasys - I know that, so... as I say - i'd like to build intel-based-mac "nearly" 100% as orginal mac. manw, munky - Thanx! munky - i know about this "bilijon questions", but ... if people ask so many times about the same problem, in fact maybe they can't find any GOOD answer. But, ok... many thanks, for your advice - sig:) it's good starting point for me. best, Peter Edited February 7, 2007 by Brave Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/41411-homemade-inte-based-mac/#findComment-296231 Share on other sites
munky
you should also look at getting a refurbished mac from apple's online store. they have some really great deals there! i picked up a MacBook Pro 1.83Ghz Core Duo for £899 (GBP). kle500
Although i haven't done any machine at the moment, i have read many many topics here for the last 2 months. All i can say is, what processor you will use? If you already have an older Intel Pentium D, my opinion is to go with the Intel 945 motherboard, especially the D945GNTLKR. Now, for the C2D processors, you can go with the: Intel 975 BadAxe 2 + Graphics card Asus P5W DH Deluxe + Graphics card or if you are in a tight budget, go with the following ASROCK CONROE945G-DVI ASUS P5LD2-VM I will choose the Asrock in the next days (i am waiting for a question i posted earlier today), or the Asus one. As i mentioned before, i haven't done any machine, but my recommendations are based on numerous posts around here.
